Dry rub recipe:

  • 1 cup brown sugar; firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1 tablespoon powdered oregano

Are you looking for a rub that is excellent for both pork and a great beef brisket or baby back ribs? If so then this is flavorful and ready to finish of your BBQ.  Mix rub ingredients in a mixing bowl.  Coat meat evenly and refrigerate at least 4 to 6 hours but preferably overnight.  Remainder of the BBQ rub can be sealed and kept in a cool dry location for future use.
